Giving Chicago Kids a Healthy Start
Jul 15, 2015We partnered with Feeding America, KaBOOM!, and local nonprofits to provide kids a healthy start via crucial wellness, nutrition and play services.
Through a partnership led by Greater Chicago Food Depository, Healthy Cities Chicago pooled nonprofits to deliver social services to help improve children’s physical and cognitive development. The initiative provided nutrition education, nutritious foods and cooking demonstrations, fun and regular fitness opportunities, and mobile health services directly to students and their families at the Calmeca Academy and the Henry D. Lloyd Elementary School – both in communities with critical food insecurity needs.
